My name is Elaine (obviously). I'm nearly 20 years old and I'm a Libra (in case you're curious, my birthday is October 14, 1985). I've lived most of my life in the same general area, but I had a breif living situation in Lexington, Virginia. It didn't work out, because, well, I'm a "Yankee". Currently, I live with both my parents, and I live quite comfortable. I've worked various odd jobs since I was 14 years old. I've waitressed, sold cookies, worked in fast food, sold cell phone accesories, sold hair accesories, worked in retail, and as of recently - I'm self-employed. I graduated high school in 2003 and I'll finally be starting college this Summer (Summer of 2005) at my local community college. I never really considered my education to be anything other than a job. That is, until I met Alex. He is my best friend and my boyfriend. He's inspired me in so many ways. He's a big positive influence on my life. I plan on majoring in English Literature and hope to one day be an author (famous or not, I just want to be an author). I have other passions besides writing. For the past 5 years I've become very interested in photography. I have a couple of cameras and I basically just experiment a lot. I used to want to make a career of it, but then I realized I would end up hating it. I'm not very good at dealing with deadlines. Such a scary word, "deadlines". I'm very fascinated by the media - you name it, I take it all in. I listen to a wide variety of music. Some of my current favorites include - The Azoic, Colony 5, DeVision, Apoptygma Berzerk, Fairlight Children, Glis, Assemblage 23, Razed in Black, and VNV Nation. But like everyone else, I have one all-time hands-down favorite band. And that would be (the since disbanded) Glassjaw. I've lived my life through the lyrics of their music. It's stirred all kinds of emotions I never knew I had. They are just so awe inspiring. I hate to admit it, but I do watch a lot of television. Mostly documentaries and Court TV, but, I'm also an addicted Adult Swim viewer. I also never miss an episode of CSI (The Vegas one), Without a Trace, and Comedy Central Presents. I watch more stand up comedy than the average human being. Also: I'm a huge, I mean HUGE, Kevin Smith fan (except for Jersey Girl - that movie sucked).
